Since my last update there has been a lot of good feedback regarding Seeking The Light, but it’s a real thrill to receive this years Mountain & Adventure Heritage Award from the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival. I’ve been attending the festival and getting inspired since 2004; I’ve even had a few film entries over the years. I’ve also played music with my band on opening night. This year I have the pleasure of receiving this prestigious award AND speaking at the festival!
I’ll be speaking at three different book festivals on the South Island through June and July:
Christchurch/ Akaroa: Saturday 10th June – Readers and Writers Akaroa (RAWA)
Wanaka/ Southern Lakes: Monday 26th June – New Zealand Mountain Film & Book Festival, Wanaka.
Nelson/ Marlborough: Saturday 22nd July – Marlborough Book Festival, Blenheim.

In Case you Missed it…
Here are three different reviews (and takes) of Seeking The Light
Stuff & Sunday Star Times – Mike White
New Zealand Alpine Club – Tom Hoyle
Federated Mountain Clubs – Peter Laurenson
And a bonus, “in case you missed it”: Sunday on TVNZ This news and current affairs feature, called HIGH LIFE, just won a major award at the NZ Cinematographers Society. All credit to director Tory Evans @torygraceevans for catching the light.
Gefeliciteerd en wel verdiend Gavin! Je hebt echt een prachtig en doordacht boek gemaakt.
Hartelijk dank Veerle. Ik ben blij dat je het leuk vindt.
